Microsoft just ddeploy a new “Preview” version of Windows 11. This build 22499 is available as part of the Windows Insider program. It concerns users registered on the DEV channel.
Windows 11 build 22499 offers improvements, fixes and some new features. For example, it is now possible to share a window in a Microsoft Teams call directly from the taskbar.
Concerning the resolution of problem we find several patches. One of them is supposed to solve a failure that caused a PC crash (BSOD) when coming out of standby. The “Screen Capture” tool is improved. On this subject the firm explains
“When taking a screenshot of a UWP app by pressing the New button in the ‘Snipping Tool’, the app should appear in the foreground after the capture is complete. “
Windows 11 build 22499, known issues
Being under the Windows Insider program, this build 22499 comes with several known issues and no fix at this time. This situation underlines that it is not recommended to use this operating system on a “production” PC.
About known issues, we have old and new failures that Microsoft is trying to fix. A problem makes it more difficult to install the latest version of Windows 11. The firm specifies
“We are investigating an issue preventing some PCs from installing new builds or other updates. The PC may report error code 0x80070002. If you encounter this problem, please restart your PC and try again.
Some PCs may roll back with error code 0xc1900101-0x4001c when installing this build. If you press this option, after the PC is downgraded, you may want to pause updates until we release a fix.”
This build “22499” is available through the Windows Update service.
